MANILA, Philippines - The much-awaited meeting of Angeline Quinto's adoptive mother and biological mother will happen soon, said the singer-actress herself.
In an interview on "The Buzz" aired Sept. 16, Angeline said that the date for the meeting is already set.
"Malapit na 'yon... Kasi gusto na rin talaga ni Mama Bab na magkita sila eh," said she, referring to her adoptive mom, Sylvia "Mama Bab" Quinto.
Angeline first met her biological mom, Rosemarie Mabao, on June 30 at a mall in Ortigas. The encounter materialized through Angeline's fans, whom Rosemarie's neighbor first approached for help; and Angeline's handler Kate Valenzuela, who helped arranged the mother-daughter meeting.
The "Star Power" champ said she has not yet established regular communication with Rosemarie, whom she calls Susan.
"Pero sana magkita kami tuwing weekends. Nagkaka-text kami. Tumatawag ako sa kanya minsan, kasi minsan wala daw siyang load. Tapos binibigyan ko ng load ang nanay ko," she related.
Late last month on "Kris TV," Angeline said Rosemarie is a Waray who, like her, can also sing.
"Pagka may konting pera sila-kasi may kinakasama po siya eh-nagtitinda siya ng kalamay, kakanin. Kaya po siya maitim kasi naglalako siya nun," she added.
Angeline recalled that it was her Mama Bab who encouraged her to offer aid to Rosemarie. The 22-year-old Angeline, in turn, gave this assurance to her Mama Bab:
"Basta sabi ko naman po 'wag siyang maga-aalala, kasi kahit naman nakilala ko si Susan eh hindi ko siya iiwanan. Hindi ko siya iiwanan talaga. Tsaka 'yung iba po 'di ba iniisip na porket nakilala ko na si Susan eh papatirahin ko na sa bahay namin. Hindi naman po agad-agad na ganun. Kumbaga 'yun nga po 'yung gusto ko na na 'pag nakaipon po ako, bibigyan ko siya ng sarili niyang bahay. Tapos kami pa rin ni Mama Bab ang magkasama," she said.
Meanwhile, it's a different story for Angeline's father, Pop Quiros, who refuses to see Rosemarie. The Kapamilya star pointed out though that she doesn't intend to play Cupid to her parents, but simply wishes for them to meet.
