Bradley Cooper has denied he is dating Jennifer Lawrence, insisting he “could literally be her father”.
The pair formed a close bond after working together on Silver Linings Playbook and upcoming movie Serena, sparking rumours they could be more than friends. Romance speculation was fuelled after Bradley split from his girlfriend Zoe Saldana earlier this month, and on Friday it was reported that Jennifer and Nicholas Hoult have ended their two-year relationship.
Bradley was quizzed on his supposed flirtation with 22-year-year Jennifer as he attended the Golden Globes last night. The stars arrived on the red carpet separately and the 38-year-old hunk was quick to dismiss the rumours, insisting they are just good friends.
"We've done two movies together," he told ET Online. "If it didn't happen by now, it's not going to happen."
“I concur,” Jennifer said.
“I could literally be her father,” Bradley smilingly added.
Despite denying romance speculation, the pair appeared flirty during the ceremony held at The Beverly Hilton Hotel. They sat side by side and were spotted laughing and joking together.
Jennifer wowed in a strapless red-orange Dior haute couture dress at the glitzy ceremony.
Although she looked stunning, the blonde star admitted she was battling a 100-degree fever.
"I'm fine," Jennifer insisted. "It's the flu... I had the doctor come over and give me a shot of something in my butt today and tell me I had the flu."
Although Bradley missed out on taking home a trophy, Jennifer was named best actress in a musical or comedy for her role in Silver Linings Playbook. As she collected the award, she cracked a joke about her fellow nominee Meryl Streep.
“What does it say? I beat Meryl!” Jennifer laughed as she clutched the prize.
The star’s comments at first raised eyebrows, with famous faces such as Perez Hilton taking to Twitter to berate Jennifer for mocking the Hollywood legend.
However, it was later pointed out that Jennifer had been quoting a line from the movie The First Wives Club and #FirstWivesClub was soon trending online.
