A 5.3-magnitude earthquake has hit Mindoro Occidental, with shocks reaching as far as Manila and Tagaytay on Thursday morning.
The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (PHIVOLCS) said the quake is of tectonic origin, its center spotted at 41 kms west of Mamburao in Mindoro Occidental.
PHIVOLCS said the quake had a depth of 15 kms, sending minor tremors of Intensity IV in Batangas City, Pinamalayan in Mindoro Oriental, and San Jose in Mindoro Occidental.
Intensity IV are often felt but very rarely causes damage.
PHIVOLCS recorded aftershocks of Intensity III in Pasay City, Intensity II in Quezon City and Malabon as well as Intensity I in Tagaytay.
It also reported another 5-3 Magnitude earthquake of tectonic origin that occurred in Mati, Davao Oriental at about 2:29 am on Thursday. It was felt at minor Intensity II in the same town.
Fourteen early winners in the party-list race have been named Friday even as the protracted count of votes continues.
