    More intense 'Ikaw Sana' maintains high ratings

    "Ikaw Sana," GMA-7's weeknight drama program starring Mark Herras, Jennylyn Mercado and Pauleen Luna, has been a consistent winner in the primetime race for the last couple of weeks based on data from AGB Nielsen Research.

    Since Nov. 3, the Kapuso station's homegrown series was able to maintain its lead over its counterpart in the other station, even scoring an impressive 27.1 percent last Nov. 5.

    Figures aside, primetime viewers take notice of "Ikaw Sana's" improved storyline, fast-paced sequences, and exciting confrontation scenes between Eliza and Sofia played by Jennylyn and Pauleen, respectively.

    The Mark-Jennylyn tandem still has not lost its magic and proves to be even stronger now that they both have matured and evolved into better actors.

    "The Climb," meanwhile, shows Miley effortlessly straddling the huge chasm between Taylor Swift's country-pop leanings and the Jonas Brothers' brand of pop-rock.

    And that's our chameleon right there - a little bit country, a little bit rock, and a whole lotta pop.

    ABS-CBN dominated the national ratings and audience share in the third quarter of 2009, bringing consolidated airtime revenues to P10.68 billion in the first nine months of the year or a 5 percent improvement over last year.

    In a press briefing held last Saturday, Head of Corporate Planning and Investor Relations Charles Gamo disclosed that ABS-CBN earned P3.96 billion in airtime revenues from July to September or an average of P1.32 billion a month.

    This increase, according to Gamo, is mainly attributed to ABS-CBN's efforts to spice up its afternoon and primetime weekday programming with a combination of drama and comedy offerings.

    On weekday afternoons, Mexican telenovela "Maria De Jesus," and the Precious Hearts Romances installment "Ang Lalaking Nagmahal Sa Akin" continued to cater to Kapamilya's core viewers while "Banana Split.
