Sports journalists and experts on both sides reacted on Twitter to the 1-1 draw between England and France on June 11.
Hervé Mathoux (@Mathouxherve), presenter on French TV channel Canal+, tweeted "A little frustrated by the draw against England. Feeling that with a little more daring, victory would have been possible."
Tom Williams (@tomwfootball), European football reporter for the AFP, thought France had a good start to the tournament but was hampered by England's attack, tweeting, "Decent start for France. Unbeaten run now 22 games and there were glimpses of their quality. Welbeck and Young troubled them though."
Sports writer for English newspaper The Guardian Richard Williams (@rwilliams1947) was less impressed with England, tweeting "England winning ball in own half but then giving it straight back, time and again. Oldest fault. And no playmaker, as usual. #Euro2012."
With regards to the final result, Joey Barton (@Joey7 Barton), Queens Park Rangers player and popular Twitter user, simply tweeted "Happy with a draw. Good start."
