MANILA, Philippines - Samsung has unveiled a product that seems to be the ultimate in convergence in information technology. In information technology, convergence refers to the way devices seamlessly work together to raise the value and functionality of these devices as they work in one ecosystem. This product is called the Smart Station Monitor, which was engineered to be the central hub of your notebook.
The Korean manufacturer also introduced various printers that allow wireless printing and scanning from your PC, Smartphone or Tablet. Also launched were the new and improved Samsung Thin and Light Notebooks.
"While other monitors have been slowly relegated to display images from personal computers, the Samsung Smart Station Monitor is the hub for connecting multiple devices to your Notebook PC," says Samsung business unit director Eric Sulit. "With a single USB connection you can dock your notebook PC to your 24" full HD monitor, keyboard, mouse, external hard disk or Printer."
"The monitor is also Mobile Hi-Definition Link (MHL) enabled. This will allow you to display your mobile phone screen on the monitor-allowing you to enjoy mobile content, gaming and apps on a bigger screen. Another feature of Smart Station is Mobile Control. While you are docked to your mobile phone, you can use the keyboard and mouse to control your mobile phone. Just drag the mouse over to the mobile phone and you can type out messages or posts via the regular keyboard." Sulit continues.
Following the success of the previous generation Ultrabooks, Samsung is refreshing its line-up of the Series 5 Ultra with the third Generation Intel Ivy Bridge CPUs. And finally, Samsung introduced the ultimate 15" Notebook.
Dubbed as its best offering to date is the new Samsung Series 9. It is the world's thinnest 15" notebook at 14.9 mm thick and 1.58 kg weight, complementing lifestyles of mobile professionals. Powered by the latest Intel Core i7 Processor, 8GB memory, and 256GB of SSD, it runs Windows 7 Professional blazingly fast. (Booting up only takes 9.1 seconds!) Topped with its 400nit HD+ Superbright Plus Screen, documents, photos, videos, and websites are more brilliant than ever. Truly, being big has never been this thin.
An Evening At Paparazzi
Although words will never fully describe the incomparable experience of fine wine and perfectly paired cuisine, a gustatory nirvana recently occurred at the Paparazzi, EDSA Shangri-la Manila.
"Speakeasy" was the theme of the evening. This pertains to the highly secret and exclusive clubs that catered to a select few, at a time when partaking of alcoholic beverages was illegal during the American prohibition era. To date "wine families" still retain that highly secretive nature, demanding loyalty to their brands, maintaining traditional techniques, quality, good taste and exclusivity. Needless to say, fine wine flowed that evening at Paparazzi, wowing vino lovers with the brilliant offerings from the prestigious cellars of Danzante, Robert Mondavi, Marchesi de Frescobaldi and Luce. These products are distributed in the Philippines by Future Trade International.
On hand at the evening's proceedings were businessman William Uy; Robert Kwee, president of SM Retail, Inc.; Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Yu of Seaoil; Sheryl Martinez and Shauna Popple of Philippine Tatler and distinguished FTI Executives.
A special menu was meticulously prepared by Paparazzi's outstanding Chef Robbie Cimino for the evening. The wines from Mondavi, Frescobaldi and Luce paired with the excellent ultimately Italian culinary servings of Chef Roberto truly made the evening special.
