THE Cagayan de Oro City Police Office (Cocpo) is urging all establishments in the city to put up their own security measures against burglars.
This came after a bank and a cooperative in Carmen were ransacked by unidentified suspects on Sunday evening.
Police Chief Inspector Lemuel Gonda, chief for operations of Cocpo, said the burglars who ransacked the MSU-IIT Multi-Purpose Cooperative and D’ Asian Hills Bank are members of a crime group operating outside Cagayan de Oro.
The suspects carted away at least P380,000 from the two establishments.
Before the incident, the suspects rented a room in a building adjacent to the two establishments. Police later recovered several tools used by the suspects.
Police operatives are still doing their investigation on the twin incidents.
“A receipt of the tools used in the incident was recovered at the room where the suspects rented and hopefully, it can be seen on the CCTV of the store where they bought the tools,” Gonda said.
