MANILA, Philippines - Justice Secretary Leila De Lima on Tuesday ordered the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) to conduct a parallel probe in the killing of a San Beda Law Student, who died from injuries sustained in an alleged hazing incident.
De Lima, who is an alumna of San Beda Law School and a member of sorority group Lambda Roh Beta, deemed it necessary for the NBI to enter in the case in order to immediately determine the persons involved in the deadly fraternity initiation that resulted to the death of 25-year-old Marvin Reglos, a freshman law student from San Beda College.
''It is our duty to find out who are the persons involved in the incident and it is our duty to also to investigate and bring them [suspects] to the bar of justice,'' Sec. De Lima told reporters in an ambush interview.
