    Malaysian man sues runaway bride for $360,000

    KUALA LUMPUR, Malaysia (AP) — A Malaysian man is suing his former fiancee for more than $360,000 for leaving him just six hours before their wedding.

    Lawyer Latifah Ariffin says 32-year-old Masran Abdul Rahman and his family were distressed and deeply embarrassed when Norzuliyana Mat Hassan called off the June wedding at the last minute.

    Latifah says Masran had invited 1,200 guests to the reception and was seeking compensation for damages and defamation from Norzuliyana and her father.

    The suit was filed Monday in a court in northeast Kelantan state.

    Latifah said Tuesday that Norzuliyana didn't give any reason for backing out of the arranged marriage.

    Norzuliyana could not immediately be reached for comment.

      Sorry dude, she ran because you are length-challenged. Keep looking, eventually you will find a malaysian girl who will tell you "size doesn't matter" (of course she will be lying, but so what).

        Yes. It's called research.

        Arranged marriages still have to be agreed to by both parties and consent is important. She could've backed out way before the wedding but she ran at the last minute.

        There's no evidence she was forced into it. An arranged marriage in Malaysia means simply that. You have to actually agree and consent to it or there is no wedding.

        She could've backed out days before but she chose to call it off at the last minute. This isn't courage. It's stupidity. She's being sued for $360 grand. Yikes....

      An arranged marriage doesn't mean its a forced marriage. Arranged marriages are different in every culture. Let's not make any judgement calls w/o knowing the entire story.
