Asia's Pop Idol Christian Bautista is not keen on wooing anew his ex-girlfriend Rachelle Ann Go now that she has split with performer Gab Valenciano.
"I am enjoying my friendship with her. No plans muna [on getting back with her]," said Christian on "Showbiz News Ngayon," Oct. 3.
The singer is still on a high from the success of his recent visit in Jakarta, Indonesia, where he has a huge following. His visit coincided with promo work for his latest album "Romance Revisited: The Love Songs of Jose Mari Chan."
While in Indonesia, Christian recorded a duet with Bunga Citra Lestari, a popular singer-actress in the country. The two recorded Jose Mari Chan's "Please Be Careful With My Heart" in Bahasa, Indonesia's major language.
Christian couldn't help but compare Cita with Pop Star Sarah Geronimo because they have certain similarities.
"Pareho silang maganda. Actually, 'pag tiningnan mo nga ang mga mata niya (Cita), pareho eh, (kay Sarah). Maaalala mo si Sarah habang kinakanta mo ang duet," Christian said.
Christian's latest album is a big hit. In fact, it has dislodged the Wonder Girls' "Nobody" in the top slot of the record charts.
He kidded, "Wala lang talaga akong sayaw, eh. Kung nakakasayaw lang ako [to a] Jose Mari Chan [song], why not?"
Christian downplayed rumors that he's courting Sarah Geronimo.
"Wala, wala ngayon. If you get to a point, when you get to know someone and friend kayo, so be it muna," he said.
Christian got into the collective consciousness of Indonesians when his first single "The Way You Look At Me" hit the airwaves in 2004. He has since enjoyed immense popularity in that country, with his records selling like proverbial hotcakes and his concerts almost always sold-out affairs.
Just this year, Christian performed in a pre-Valentine concert at the Times Square Grand Indonesia Shopping Town. He previously did a guest appearance on "MTV Indonesia," "Indonesia Idol" and "Dashyat," the top rating TV show in Indonesia.
