Jennifer Lopez wowed over 13,000 Filipinos during her concert in Pasay City on Monday night.

But the former American Idol judge’s voice, dancing skills, and charm still failed to impress Senator Miriam Defensor-Santiago, who had a VIP ticket for the event.

Santiago expressed bafflement over Lopez’s performance, as she recalled the world-known celebrity “Dance Again” world tour concert experience with former Department of Health Secretary Esperanza Cabral.

“I was shocked beyond belief at the attack, assault on my ears. It was so loud and there were so many people and they stirred themselves into a frenzy,” Santiago told reporters.

“They were worshiping at the foot of someone, who was no longer human. They transformed her. She morphed into a digital idol,” the senator said in an ambush interview.

Expressing her disappointment, Santiago said the country needs more exposure and total immersion to classical music, opera and ballet.

“I think our country could use more classical musicians, singers in the opera, ballet style… Let me just say I was not impressed,” she noted.

“I have no ambition of becoming a sex kitten or assaulting people to deafness,” she added.

On Monday, Lopez mesmerized thousands of Filipinos who went to see her first Philippine concert at the SM Mall of Asia Arena.

Proclamations of love for the RnB star flooded Twitter after Lopez thanked Filipinos on her account right after the show. Several politicians were spotted in the event as well such as former Senator Loi Ejercito, former Rep. Cynthia Villar, among others.

Actor Richard Gomez also tweeted: "Parang may joint congressional and senate hearing dito sa JLo concert! Hahahaha!"
