MANILA CITY, METRO MANILA—Members of the tourism sector are told to use the Department of Tourism (DoT)'s new tourism campaign for marketing materials in both print, broadcast and social media.
This includes the application of the “It’s More Fun in the Philippines” for international audiences and “1ForFunPhilippines” for the local public in information resources like brochures, posters, billboards, websites and all other applicable materials often communicated.
Photographs that will carry the slogans must have a positive message.
Tourism-related businesses are encouraged to train and brief their employees to be more cordial and to offer a fun-filled experience for visitors.
During the campaign’s launch, DOT chief Ramon Jimenez called on all Filipinos to help spread the word in an effort to boost the country’s promising tourism industry.
“The national line is a goal, a constant reminder to ourselves why we can tell travelers it’s more fun here than anywhere else. It needs everyone’s support for it to stay true—we need to make sure people’s experiences in our country are positive, enjoyable and most of all, fun,” Jimenez explained.
The agency has raised its tourism target from a record-breaking 3.9 million in 2011 to 4.2 million this year.
