    Banco de Oro Unibank Inc. is one lucky bank, receiving a total of P16.8 billion in total financial assistance from the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) so far.

    This makes BDO as the bank with the largest incentives package from the BSP.

    According to a report by the Commission on Audit (CoA), the BSP extended BDO P10 billion in financial assistance in 2002 for its takeover of First E-Bank.

  • CEB offers Japan, Korea seat sale as low as P2,499

    Asia's third-largest low-cost carrier Cebu Pacific (CEB) aims to increase its traffic to Japan and Korea with a seat sale as low as P2,499. The seat sale period is from November 6 to 8, 2009, for travel this January 15 to March 15, 2010.

    Passengers going on Manila-Incheon, Cebu-Incheon and Cebu-Busan flights can avail of the P2,499 "Go Lite" seat sale fare, which is 35%% lower than the lowest year-round fare of P3,899. Those with check-in luggage will just add P100 upon booking.

    CEB flies daily from Manila and Cebu to Incheon, and twice weekly from Cebu to Busan.

    Meanwhile, Manila-Osaka passengers can avail of 52%% discount off the lowest year-round fare of P5,499, with the seat sale fare of P2,599. CEB flies every Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday to Osaka.

    The seat sale fares of P2,499 and P2,599 for Korea and Japan respectively are meant to promote the airline's frequencies and routes to East Asia, especially since it is the only local airline flying to all three major East Asian countries.
