Defending champion Novak Djokovic, the second seed from Serbia, won the third set of the US Open men's final against British third seed Andy Murray on Monday by 6-2.
Murray won the first set 7-6 (12/10) and the second set 7-5.
Not since 1949 has a player lost the first two sets and recovered to win the US Open men's final.
If he wins, Murray would become the first British man to win a Grand Slam title since Fred Perry in 1936.
