Kathmandu (The Kathmandu Post/ANN) - A Nepal-China ministerial-level meeting has agreed to hold biennial ministerial meeting alternatively in both countries to strengthen cooperation and coordination in the field of forestry and bio-diversity conservation.
A team led by Chinese Minister of State for Forestry Administration Jia Zhibang is on Nepal's four-day visit from February 22 at the invitation of Forest Minister Md Wakil Musalman.
The meeting held between officials of the two countries agreed to work in the field of forests and wildlife conservation, and law enforcement along border areas, and share knowledge, experiences and practices.
According to Ram Lamsal, spokesperson for the Ministry of Forests and Soil Conservation (MoFSC), the meeting discussed 13 proposals for future cooperation in areas of biodiversity, regional cooperation in wildlife conservation and law enforcement, among others.
Meanwhile, China has agreed to be a part of the South Asia Wildlife Enforcement Network and share best experiences in the field of tiger conservation at bilateral and regional level.
"The meeting with the Chinese delegates was productive to enrich close cooperation between the two countries by organising good will and professional visits, sharing information, technologies and best practices,¿ said a MoFSC release.
