Now that's entertainment!

I’m not one for gadgets and gizmos and I’ve looked at every laptop with disdain till now, seeing it as the very symbol of all that is wrong with communication and anti-social behaviour. (And it didn’t help that Toshiba was in my eyes the ‘culprit’ that invented the first Notebook PC).
But then they thrust a Toshiba Satellite P745 into my path and told me to “go play”. And then a remarkable thing happened...

First of all, I was enamoured by the illuminated tiled keyboard with raised tiling and gorgeous backlighting to make typing a truly comfortable experience.

OK, so Toshiba got me there, but I wasn’t going to give them an A-star grade purely on that or for the wider touchpad and multimedia bar with feather-touch buttons that afforded me literally convenience at my fingertips.

“Show me your graphics capability, baby” I incited the Satellite P745. NVIDIA® Ge Force® GT 525M didn’t ring any bell with me. But, boy did it impress with its outstanding graphic performance. And in all that visual glory on a 14” Clear SuperView HD display screen, I was pleasantly surprised that the battery life didn’t run out on me.

But I must admit what blew me away even more was the sound. Awesome.

What did the guys at Toshiba fit it with anyway I wondered? Well in a word (or perhaps two) ‘Harmon Kardon’. Wow, dig the immersive audio from their speakers. Harmon Kardon, I know are legendary, but I wasn’t half expecting they would be able to duplicate their performance in a compact notebook like the Satellite P745. Hmmmm. Proven wrong again.

Not only having the 2nd generation Intel® Core™ i7 processor, the new Satellite P745 is also equipped with  Dolby® Advanced Audio and Resolution+ (Toshiba TV technology apparently) to upscale the audio and visual experience didn’t hurt either.

In fact I’m told that with a HDMI cable, I can even transform my 2D DVDs to 3D quality and watch it on a 3D TV. Help me guys, I’m sounding like a geek already.

Hate to admit it, but I was bowled over by the Satellite P745. Am I handing
it back to Toshiba? Watch me plead to hang on to it...
