UNITED STATES: Richie Moretti, founder of the Turtle Hospital in Marathon, Florida, examines "Charley," the loggerhead sea turtle, before releasing it about 25 miles (40 km) off the Florida Keys. The juvenile reptile was rescued after a fisherman found it floating off the Keys. It was treated for an impacted digestive system caused by eating a piece of plastic. The tagged turtle likely traveled some 2,000 miles (3,219 km) from its original June 2012 release point off Colombia. less
