more Jamalul Kiram III (C), a former Sultan of the Sulu region of the southern Philippines, prays inside the Blue Mosque at Taguig city, south of Manila February 22, 2013. A peace deal between the Philippines and Muslim rebels has alienated traditional rulers and their followers, Jamalul Kiram III said on Monday, after a group of sultan loyalists occupied a village in nearby Malaysia. The stand-off with police in Malaysia's eastern state of Sabah has threatened to spark tension between the Philippines and Malaysia, whose ties have been periodically frayed by security and migration problems along their sea border. Reports of the number of men have differed, with Malaysian police having reported the group to be of about 100 men, and Philippine Foreign Secretary Albert Del Rosario on Thursday giving the figure of about 200 armed men and women.
