PH switches lights off for Earth Hour

in a way ok din kaso, ang tlagang matakaw sa kuryente yung mga mansion ng mga corrupt na mga politico at oligachs

para mas mafeel mo earth hour mandatory na lang pinatay lahat ng kuryente para kahit papaano lahat ay involve..tingnan ko lang kung di bumaba ang bayarin sa MERALCO.

I did not switch off the lights in my house at 8:30 to 9:30 p.m. in fact i switch on all the lights, that was the time i got home from work that started at 6 a.m. i always have to switch off the lights when i leave home so i always have more than enough time conserving ener---- and helping the planet earth.

And how many of those cups were thrown in the street afterwards.... How many of those people took smog belching jeepneys and buses home from MOA... "Earth Hour" pshhhhh gtfo. Hypocrisy and/or ignorance.

The way I see it, the lighting of candles has always been a very meaningful gesture to create aware, express concern, and show ones unity with others. In this case, for Mother Earth. It is just a symbolic act. And we should not worry too much about the carbon dioxide emitted in that one hour by the candles. Mother Earth also needs it because the plants need carbon dioxide which they transform into oxygen as we have learned in our elementary science. But the intention is really to save ener---- and minimize the emission of carbon dioxide in our own small but collective way, I suggest the practice of Daylight Saving Time. Everybody will just have to agree to advance their watches or clocks by one hour to maximize the longer daylight time
as we are having now at this time of the year.

Earth hour is just small way to save power, other ideas to save ener---- in daily life is encouraged. You are not only saving power but also cost. I case of Cebu Island which save 18 MW of power, how much fuel need to generate such power? Complain and criticism has no positive effect, individual move to save mother earth is very important. We are all affected by climate change effect mayaman man o mahirap.

it's non-sense. the people in the pic turned off their lights but as well lighted their candles. It still emits CO2 gasses. Hypocrites.

the best THINGS to do to PROTECT AND SAVE our PLANET is PLANT ONE MILLION TREES every year by MOBILIZING the students, government and private employees, police and armed forces personnel and local government employees...HOW TO DO IT? VERY SIMPLE LANG, IDENTIFY NATIN UNG MGA KALBONG BUNDOK SA MGA PROBINSYA, MGA PARKS AT OPEN SPACES SA MGA LUNDOD AT BAYAN AND THEN TANIMAN NATIN NG MGA PUNO....GANOON LANG UN KA SIMPLE DI NA KAILANGAN NG MAGARBONG PUBLISIDAD.

earth hour must be in us in mind & spirit thru out this lifetime...every switch you turn off, every step u take instead of car ride, every faucet turned off, every recycled paper in the office, every trash we separate in our garbage is all about earth hour....be the walking earth hour in YOU !

Patay nga yung ilaw nakasindi naman yung mga kandila na naglalabas ng usok...ganun din!!! Ilang mga tao rin yang may mga kandila...Dapat ang esrth hour ay from 11am to 1pm na lang...

Bakit kailangan i-relate lahat sa bible or religion? If this is the way you fish, then it is not a good practice. Hindi kailangan takutin ang tao para maniwala sa religion or bible. Jesus did not scare the people to be his disciple right?

mabuti pa ang mga mahihirap na di abot ng kuryente, lagi silang compliant sa ganitong mga activity :)

earth hour is not compulsary, if you dont want to join then fine.

bakit ba may nagagalit sa opinion ng mga tao?!! respect nlng cguro para walang bad words na lumalabas.. hindi walang perpektong tao.. sa earth hour hindi naman tlaga lahat nag paparticipate.. almost cguro.. mga kapitbahay nga namin ang lakas pa ng mga sounds.. nambubulabog.. kaya wag nyung sabihin na nakakatulong itong earth hour nato.. maliit na percent lang ito.. dahil hindi lahat may malasakit sa kalikasan.. yun lang.. kung mag comment kau wag namang grabe.. tanx..

Yung Usok sa kandila na sinindihan ng mga milyunes na tao ganun din sinsira pa din ang kalikasan, wala pa ring silbi, sumikat lang dito ang organizer but this is still negosyo...hahaha pauto namn tayo, simple lang magtanim tayo ng mag punong kahoy, pigilan ang sobrang daming fish ponds at yung pagtayo ng madaming housing kahit sa mag lugar na dapt ng mga palay at gulay, yun ang aatupagin ng Pinas kung gusto natin makatulong sa kalikasan froo all over luzon kalbo ang kabundukan, pataninm nila yun balang araw mapakinabanga pa sa pinas ang kahoy, bawat putol may kapalit..

I am no expert but will the candles all around the world would add carbon dioxide to our ozone layer? If you try to think about it, all the people who participated would emit high concentration of that deadly gas. I am not against this kind of green activities, for that matter I am pretty much doing my part as much as I can like recycling and all. On the other hand, we should not just do this for March 26. Let us incorporate this in our daily lives, like turn off power consuming devices that are not needed on, for those people who smoke try to minimize to this does not only help the environment but as well as your health, try to recycle as much rubbish as you can or try selling them, if you are in a traffic it would be beneficial if you turn off your engine while waiting for the traffic to move forth, as much as our forest is cut and burned down because of expansion we can compensate by planting a tree or be greener in our own back yards. These are just some of my samples, my knowledge about this concern are same as all of you. Thank you guys for reading

Earth hour is very nice ever since it started and for an hour it gave good results for the earth and for us. Even though it gave small figures, it seemed to gave greater help

candles are ok and less dangerous... they way it releases CO2 for an hour is way too different from carbon monoxide from cars everyday which pollutes

In recent videos of earth hour, some countries who joined also used candles as light for an hour dark... maybe they already figured it out its danger and safety even before they use it

Nature is mysterious and indeed powerful, it can change and restore itself by means of different natural events... but we too are important in its change and restore and even a tinsy little bit help would produce great result and one way was earth hour

What you do counts, it may or may not be observed, televised, announced or spoken of, but it is a Good deed to care for the home we are living and considerate for what God has created :)

Earth Hour encourages people to go out of their way to save ener----. Hindi ung natitipid lang kapag tulog ka o walang tao sa bahay kaya walang nagagamit na kuryente. It creates awareness and stimulates the people's sense of unity of doing a sensible thing together for the environment. 60-minutes may just only be that - 60-minutes - but for that 1 hour of darkness provides 1 hour of light for the future.
