Plomeda taps out against Alvarez in PXC 24

PASAY CITY, METRO MANILA-Josh Alvarez of Guam submitted Filipino fighter Rogelito Plomeda via rear naked choke in a bantamweight match at the ongoing Pacific Xtreme Combat (PXC) 24 at the Resorts World here.

Plomeda was actually able to stun Alvarez after landing a huge right hand to Alvarez’s jaw early in the round.

Plomeda however failed to capitalize, allowing Alvarez to survive a follow up attack.

Alvarez was eventually able to takedown Plomeda, and after a successful side-control attempt was able to execute a rear naked choke against the taller Plomeda.

Plomeda was forced to tap out after failing to escape Alvarez in 2 minutes 55 seconds of the first round.

With the defeat, Plomeda’s record falls to 6 wins and 4 losses while Alvarez improved to 8 wins and 3 losses.

Plomeda is one of two Filipino MMA fighters participating in the ongoing PXC 24.

Compatriot Carlos Tiongson earlier lost his fight against Guam’s Ricky Camp via referee stopped contest (RSC).
