    Porsche-riding Customs Clerk Resigns

    MANILA, Philippines - The Porsche-riding Customs clerk involved in a shooting incident has opted to quit his job ahead of the filing of administrative and criminal charges against him.



    But Customs Commissioner Ruffy Biazon won't allow the clerk, Paulino Elevado, to get off that easy.



    Elevado resigned Tuesday, a day after the Department of Finance's Revenue Integrity Protection Service found him liable for ''serious dishonesty and conduct prejudicial to the best interest of the service.''



    He also faces charges of violating the Anti-Graft and Corrupt Practices Act for failing to disclose some of his properties and sources of income in his Statement of Assets, Liabilities and Net Worth (SALN).



    Elevado's high-profile lifestyle was exposed after he got involved in a traffic altercation, where he beat up and tried to shoot a 20-year-old student.



    Biazon said he was informed of Elevado's resignation Wednesday by the bureau's Internal Administration Group, but has not acted on it.



    ''It was his way of preempting us,'' Biazon said.

      A BoC Clerk owns a PORCHE? My goodness, that only shows that a lot of BoC employees are millionaires or maybe even BILLIONAIRES! Baka mga janitors nila ay naka-MERCEDES-BENZ.

        Me article na niyan tungkol sa isang customs employee na me tatlong mamahaling kotse at nakatira sa isang sikat na condo unit mga limang taon na ang nakakaraan. sabi nga ng kaibigan ko kung magaling ka raw, kikita ka ng at least P100,000.00 sa isang araw diyan sa customs. kaya yung sweldo mo, allowance na lang.

        Im not sure about the veracity of my information but I will tell it anyway, besides, in our court (impeachment court) they accept even a hearsay anyway. So, the story goes something like this: If we hear in the news that there are shipments that were confiscated or apprehended due to mis-declaration, these are not true at all. The reason being there are such apprehensions is actually due to failed negotiations with the bureau's inspection officer of the consignee. They both didn't agree on how much the other would pay and the other would get. Hence, to make things fair, call the press and report a confiscation of misdeclared good. Pahuli nalang kesa magbayad ng mahal sa customs tapos wala pang kikitain dun sa mga inimport na goods. Talo consignee at wala din napala ang inspectors. Fair nga ba ang ganun? You decide. BTW, this is just a hearsay. Bwa ha ha ha!

      E ung kapitbahay kong clerk din sa customs e 3-Storey building ang bahay, fully furnish at tatlo sasakyan (1 landcruiser prado, 1 mitsubishi pajero na 2 door n 1 nissan patrol) at de security guard pa ang loko, samantalang ako e CADILLACad lang.

      I WAS SO HAPPY THAT THE AQUINO ADMINISTRATION NOW WAS WORKING OUT TO INVESTIGATE THE CORRUPT IN OUR COUNTRY AND PENALIZE ONES FOUND GUILTY...YES , NOT ALL CUSTOMS EMPLOYEES WERE CORRUPT BUT MOST OF THEM ARE.. GOD SAID, IF YOU WILL JOIN WITH THE CORRUPT, YOU WILL BECOME CORRUPT.. MY HUSBAND IS AN INTELLIGENCE OF THE BUREAU OF CUSTOMS.. BUT WE ARE SEPARATED DUE TO HIS SO MANY VICES INCLUDING A WOMANIZER BECAUSE HE HAD LOTS OF CORRUPTED MONEY.. AND IM HERE NOT RECEIVING ANY CENTAVO FROM HIM FOR MANY YEARS.

      Siguro mainit ang ulo dahil ilang taon na siyang walang prenong nagii smuggle sa Cutoms at ngayon ay wala nang pang tustos sa kanyang mga kabit at lifestyle of the rich and famous. Noon yung mga tusong magnanakaw ay tuloy tuloy ang kurakot by accepting bribes and non collection of taxes. Noon may "institunionalized corruption", everybody is happy ika nga sabi ni GMA. Ngayon tuwid na daan nalang. Wow. Hindi siya makapag adjust sa malaking pagbabago.
