SHANGHAI, July 2 - Chinese stocks rose 1.73 percent to a fresh 13-month closing high in heavy trade on Thursday, with energy and metal shares strong as investors gained confidence in the recovery in the world's third-largest economy.
The Shanghai Composite Index <.SSEC> ended at 3,060.254 points.
Gaining Shanghai A shares outnumbered losers by 612 to 298, while turnover in Shanghai A shares rose to a three-month high of 180.6 billion yuan from Wednesday's 153.2 billion yuan.
