BOJ says to mull extending swap deals with Fed

TOKYO, June 26 - The Bank of Japan said on Friday it will examine extending its yen swap arrangement with the U.S. Federal Reserve until Feb. 1 next year.

The deal, under which the BOJ would provide the Fed with up to 10 trillion yen in yen should the need arise, was due to expire at the end of October.

The BOJ will also examine extending until Feb. 1 its dollar swap arrangement that expires at the end of October.

The BOJ will announce a formal decision on the deals at its next policy-setting meeting on July 14-15, the central bank said in a statement.
