MANILA, Philippines -- From schools to hospitals to retail stores and TV stations, IT giant HP unveiled last week a comprehensive package of technology solutions designed to help "small business owners and enterprise customers improve (their) productivity and reduce total cost of ownership."
"The economy grew by 7.3 per cent in 2010," said HP Country Manager for Personal Systems Group Albert Mateo. " We foresee increased demand and also a shift in expectations. Companies now want IT solutions that are modular, scalable and energy-conscious without sacrificing productivity. Am proud to say that here in HP, we have the products to meet the requirements of customers in nearly every industry."
For the education sector, HP offers its Digital Learning Suite and the HP MultiSeat Computing Solution which enables schools to set up a digital classroom at low cost. With products like the HP MultiSeat t150 Thin Client, for example, " up to 10 users can share the power of one PC, decreasing the number of physical PCs needed in an environment."
Additionally, products like the HP Classroom Manager pushes content to notebooks and desktops in the classroom while the HP Pocket Whiteboard projects your standard digital whiteboard into almost any flat surface to create up to ten feet of diagonal workspace.
On the other hand, HP's new line of business notebooks embody the new FORGE design framework which stands for Form, Optimize, Richness, Guarded & Enduring. They are meant to be durable yet affordable, with characteristics that include aluminium alloy hinges, cast titanium-alloy display latches and HP DisplaySafe frame.
The top-of-the-line business notebook is the HP Elitebook 8460p which is powered by Intel, has an impressive battery life of up to 32 hours, a 14-inch diagonal display and a choice of UMA or performance discrete graphics. Small and medium businesses can rely on the HP ProBook 4230 with its 12-inch display, Intel processor, durable metal frame and advanced multimedia tools for business and home.
Enterprises looking for maximum desktop performance can bank on the HP Compaq 8200 Elite which delivers the work with 15 per cent faster hard drive access. The HP 5570 Thin Client is environmentally-certified, comes with a choice of operating systems and can be quickly configured with HP Easy Tools which makes it all possible in four easy steps.
For retail stores, HP has introduced its interesting line-up of LCD Digital Signage Displays ranging from 42 to 47 inches in size.
They come complete with stand, mounting kit, speakers, PC security lock and HP Media Sign Player technology which enables plug-and-play convenience for dynamic digital advertising.
Other sectors who can benefit from HP's new business computing portfolio are mobile professionals, health care providers and creative artists and engineers who need computer-intensive performance and best in-class displays to bring their ideas to life.
