Team PNoy wishes Aquino 'true love'

He may be the country's top official, but who said President Benigno Aquino III is safe from being teased about his love life?

The senatorial slate endorsed by the President sent late birthday and early Valentine greetings to the bachelor leader, with high hopes that he will soon find romance.

Aquino "must find some time for romance despite his busy schedule tomorrow (Thursday), have a wife, and eventually raise a family," Team PNoy said in a statement Wednesday.

This, as they noted that the "rosy economy" under Aquino's watch should also result in a "rosier love life" for the President.

Among the President's well-wishers are his former colleague Senator Francis "Chiz" Escudero, who is now romantically linked to actress Heart Evangelista.

"Sana makahanap din siya ng tunay, dalisay, at walang hanggang pag-ibig at ng isang babae na iibigin din siya ng wagas (I hope he also finds true and endless love in a girl who will also love him completely)," Escudero said.

The President's cousin Bam Aquino, who tied the knot only last year, also wished his cousin will find his mate soon.

"Sana makahanap siya ng mag-aalaga sa kanya tulad ng pag-alaga niya sa bayan (I hope he finds someone who will take care of him the way he etakes care of our country)," the younger Aquino said.

Another young candidate, Aurora Rep. Edgardo "Sonny" Angara, for his part said:  "I wish that he finds someone who will love him as much as he loves us. He deserves it."

"Since he already has the love of the Filipino people, may he find more love in his personal life," former Senator Jamby Madrigal for her part said.

Former Akbayan Party-list Rep. Risa Hontiveros said: "In line with the administration's flagship program, the Public-Private Partnership or PPP, I wish PNoy PPP – Pag-ibig Palagi sa kaniyang Puso."

Senator Alan Peter Cayetano, meanwhile, urged Aquino to find his "Lani", referring to his wife and current mayor of Taguig City.

Senator Loren Legarda agreed, adding that the President "has to find his true love."

Former Senator Jun Magsaysay was more forward-looking: "PNoy deserves to be happy and he must have a love partner soonest. At sana, makakambal kaagad."

But former MTRCB Chair Grace Poe's wish for the President was simpler: more time for himself.

"I wish him some 'me' time, a date with himself, to do everything he loves us to do but has not been able to do because he has been too busy being president," Poe said.

Senator Aquilino "Koko" Pimentel III concurred, saing PNoy must find both the time and the date to enable him to have a relaxing Valentine's dinner while listening to his favorite music.

Former Rep. Cynthia Villar, meanwhile, said: "We wish you good health and more blessings, as you lead our country towards greater growth and progress."

By Paul Casciato LONDON (Reuters) - Some spectators at London's Chelsea Flower Show wouldn't be caught dead with one in the trunk of their Bentley, but garden gnomes have turned up at the show's 100th edition this year, for charity. The Royal Horticultural Society (RHS), which runs Chelsea in the grounds of the Christopher Wren-built Royal Hospital Chelsea, has lifted a ban on the ceramic figures with floppy hats and beards in order to raise funds for an RHS charity that supports the use of

By Jane Lee SHANGHAI (Reuters) - Humor may not always translate well, but Jon Stewart is picking up millions of fans in China, where his gloves-off political satire is refreshing for many in a country where such criticism is a rarity - especially when directed at their own leaders. A recent segment on North Korea scored over 4 million views on microblogger Sina Weibo, and even stodgy state broadcaster CCTV has used Stewart's "The Daily Show" in a report, though they wouldn't let a Chinese
