Valentine's Day is fast approaching, and while couples are abuzz with preparations for the day of romance, Pinoys without partners need not fret as population figures seem to be on your side.
For one, the ratio between girls and boys in the country's total 92.1-million population makes pairing easier, as there are 102 males per 100 females based on the latest population count.
Single men and women aged 10 above are also aplenty in the Philippines, National Statistical Coordination Board (NSCB) Secretary-General Jose Ramon Albert said in his latest "Beyond the Numbers" post Friday.

Of the 71.55 million Pinoys aged 10 and above in the latest population count, 43.5 percent are single, Albert said.
More Pinoys are married, however, at 45.4 percent of the population aged 10 up.
Meanwhile, 5.4 percent are in common-law/live-in relationships, 4.3 percent are widowed and 1.2 percent are divorced or separated.

Single men also comprise 46.8 of the total male population, outnumbering married ones pegged only at 45 percent.
The opposite is true for females, however, with 45.8 percent of the population married and only 40.3 percent single.
"Good news then for all the single ladies out there who are in search of partners from the opposite sex: Aside from the fact that there are more males than women, in general, there are also more single males than married available for them!" Albert said.

But single Pinoys in some areas in the country have better chances at finding romance than others, the NSCB chief said.
If you're a single Filipina aged 20-29, he noted, you'll get the best chance of finding a single male of the same age group in Eastern Visayas (Region VIII).
You are likely to find a pair, however, were you to look for her Romeo in the Autonomous Region of Muslim Mindanao (ARMM).
On the other hand, if you're a single Pinoy man aged 20-29, the best place to start a quest for romance is in ARMM, government data showed.
Such quests will be most difficult in Region Eastern Visayas.
The NSCB chief stressed, however, that the examinations assume "that one prefers heterosexual relationships."
But the data could still be useful if you're a Pinoy looking for a partner of the same gender, Albert added.
