The worst Eredivisie Team of the Season so far

Filip Kurto gets the nod for the position between the sticks following his poor performances for Roda. The Polish shot-stopper made a number of howlers in the first half of the season, and hasn't done much to help his team get back on track. He might have kept five clean sheets so far, but he has already cost Roda on more than one occasion.

Belgium wing-back Martijn Monteyne thoroughly deserves his inclusion in the three-man defence after a string of disappointing outings. The Roda man is never afraid to charge forward in an attempt to help his attack, but he's extremely vulnerable in defence, and the Limburgers' opponents take advantage of his weakness time and time again. Ramon Zomer is another defender who has been unable to stand out in a positive way. Heerenveen have been largely unimpressive this term, and Zomer is often at the heart of any trouble the Friezen find themselves in. Twente defender Edson Braafheid occupies the final slot at the back. The Hoffenheim loanee appeared in the final of the 2010 World Cup, but it has since all gone downhill for the left-back.

Anouar Hadouir is not having the best of seasons at NAC. The attacking midfielder has featured from the start on 10 occasions, but still awaits his first goal of the season. More is to be expected of a player with his abilities. His former team-mate Marcel Meeuwis accompanies Hadouir in midfield after his career hit a new low this campaign. The versatile midfielder has arguably been one of the worst performers so far, and was released by his club after just nine games. Georginio Wijnaldum is somewhat of a surprise inclusion as he netted seven goals from midfield. However, the PSV player could easily have scored twice as many as he mainly made the headlines for missing chances after taking Ola Toivonen's place.

Although Luc Castaignos has managed to score eight goals for Twente so far, the youngster has received his fair share of criticism. The former Inter starlet has been unable to live up to the high expectations due to his profligacy in front of goal, and he will have to improve in order to hold on to his starting berth. Genero Zeefuik has been one of the most talked about strikers of the season so far. Not only has he scored just one goal in 14 games, he was also dropped from the first team for a while for having more body fat than is healthy. His Groningen team-mate David Texeira hardly did better, though, as he proved to be unable to adequately replace Zeefuik, and netted only once, too. Another misfiring striker who makes the four-man attack is Roda's Krisztian Nemeth. The Hungarian attacker impressed for RKC last term, but has failed to replicate that form this campaign.

A gnome grows in Chelsea - at the flower show, that is

By Paul Casciato LONDON (Reuters) - Some spectators at London's Chelsea Flower Show wouldn't be caught dead with one in the trunk of their Bentley, but garden gnomes have turned up at the show's 100th edition this year, for charity. The Royal Horticultural Society (RHS), which runs Chelsea in the grounds of the Christopher Wren-built Royal Hospital Chelsea, has lifted a ban on the ceramic figures with floppy hats and beards in order to raise funds for an RHS charity that supports the use of

By Jonathan Kaminsky OLYMPIA, Washington (Reuters) - With Washington state about to embark on a first-of-its-kind legal market for recreational marijuana, the budding ranks of new cannabis growers face a quandary over what to do with the excess stems, roots and leaves from their plants. Jon Stewart's humor a hit with millions of envious Chinese

By Jane Lee SHANGHAI (Reuters) - Humor may not always translate well, but Jon Stewart is picking up millions of fans in China, where his gloves-off political satire is refreshing for many in a country where such criticism is a rarity - especially when directed at their own leaders. A recent segment on North Korea scored over 4 million views on microblogger Sina Weibo, and even stodgy state broadcaster CCTV has used Stewart's "The Daily Show" in a report, though they wouldn't let a Chinese
