1 dead, 50 houses damaged in Bulacao Pardo fire

A 62-YEAR-OLD woman was killed and more than 50 houses were destroyed by a fire that broke out Thursday evening, Feb. 4, 2021, in Sitio Upper San Roque, Barangay Bulacao Pardo, Cebu City.

Fire investigators identified the dead woman as Lolisa Cabanula, a widow who lived alone and the owner of the house where the fire started at 8:50 p.m.

According to FO3 Emerson Arceo, the Cebu City Fire Department received the fire alarm at 8:53 p.m.

Firefighters put out the fire at 10:29 p.m.

On Friday morning, Feb. 5, 2021, the charred body of Cabanula was found among the ruins.

More than 50 houses were gutted by the fire.

Fire investigators initially estimate the damage at P400,000. They have yet to determine the cause of the fire. (SunStar Cebu/With BBT)
