1 nabbed for stealing e-bike batteries

A 20-YEAR-OLD man was arrested for stealing batteries from an e-bike that was parked at the back of a gym in Proper San Isidro, Barangay San Isidro, Talisay City, Cebu Monday evening, May 30, 2022.

Lieutenant Colonel Randy Caballes, chief of police of Talisay City Police Station, identified the suspect as Jurame Alcosa, a resident of Sitio Puso, Barangay Buhisan, Cebu City.

Caballes told SunStar Cebu that Alcosa was with another person, who managed to escape arrest.

He said three residents came to report that the two suspects were seen stealing two e-bike batteries worth around P8,000.

The owner of the e-bike was identified as Alfredito Zapra Abapo Jr., 48, a resident of Barangay San Isidro, Talisay City.

The three residents, led by Christian Abapo, chased the two suspects and caught Alcosa.

The batteries were also recovered.

Alcosa was turned over to the Talisay City Police Station around 3 a.m. Tuesday, May 31.

Caballes said Alcosa will face theft charges. (GDC)
