11 nabbed in Cebu City drug bust

AT LEAST 11 persons, including four minors, were arrested in synchronized buy-bust operations in barangays Pasil and Suba in Cebu City on Tuesday afternoon, January 17, 2023.

First to be arrested by the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency-Central Visayas (PDEA 7) in Sitio Dela Conception, Barangay Pasil at 2 p.m. were a certain Jurie Abayo Abaño, 21, and four other minors aged 13 to 17.

Abaño’s alleged drug boss Clifford Gonzales, however, escaped arrest.

The four minors have been reported as the drug runners of Gonzales.

Seized from them were substance believed to be shabu worth around P68,000.

At 2:30 p.m., suspect Rodelia de Aquino, 49, was arrested in Sitio Mahayahay 2 of Barangay Pasil for having in her possession 50 grams of shabu worth P340,000.

Another female drug suspect identified as Maria Loreto Odango, 59, was handcuffed at 3:20 p.m. in Barangay Pasil. Seized from her were shabu weighing 85 grams and with an estimated value of more than half a million pesos.

In the neighboring barangay of Suba, arrested were “drug den maintainer” Maria Cristina Sacramiento alias Miles, of legal age; Ronald Gonzaga Maano, 31, a beautician; and Jesus Bisin Arapol Jr., a septic tank cleaner.

Sacramiento allegedly yielded shabu worth P81,000.

The suspects will be facing charges for violation of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. (BBT/TPT)
