11 times celebs dressed just like iconic TV and film characters
Is it just us, or are some of the best dressed celebs taking styling notes from our favourite TV and film characters of the '90s and '00s?! Yeah, it’s hardly surprising. So many of those actors had the best and most envied wardrobes in on-screen history, after all.
It’s no secret TV shows and films dictate much of what people like to wear at the time and we all know fashion comes back around. Indeed, whenever you think a trend is truly dead and buried, it reappears. Remember that time when A-listers suddenly started dressing like Lizzie McGuire? Exactly.
From Millie Bobby Brown’s ode to Rachel Green, Dua Lipa’s take on Marissa Cooper’s style and EmRata’s tribute to Cher Horowitz - these are the most impressive (and stylish) celebrity TV and film doppelgänger fashion moments to date...

1) Ariana Grande & Jenna Rink in 13 Going on 30
Ariana paid a pretty spot on tribute to Jennifer Garner's character in one of our most quoted rom-coms, 13 going on 30. Sporting that colourful dress - from Versace's 2003 Spring collection, FYI - whilst on The Voice, she added Noughties-inspired bejewelled drop earnings as well as pastel eyeshadow and nailed the look.

2) Emily Ratajkowski & Cher Horowitz in Clueless
The neon check blazer, the knee high white boots and that '90s sleek straight hair - EmRata embodies OOTD-obsessed Cher Horowitz down to a T.

3) Bella Hadid & Allyson Porter in Passport to Paris
Looking back at the Olsen twin's TV and movie catalogue over the years, there's no argument that they have had some serious looks. It therefore comes as no surprise that Bella Hadid would take styling tips from Ashley Olsen's baby pink and leather get up, complete with flick-y bob and tinted shades.

4) Kendall Jenner & Chandler Bing in Friends
Could Kendall BE any more geek chic? Yes, Rachel, Monica and Phoebe have some of the most iconic and lusted over outfits in TV history, but let's not overlook the guys, eh. Chandler's sweater vests have come back into fashion with a vengeance and we can totally see why.

5) Hailey Bieber & Hilary Banks in The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air
Hailey is a big fan of an '80s blazer complete with power shoulders, a la Hilary Banks from The Fresh Prince. Swapping out Hils' structured bowler hat for a bucket style, and going oversized compared to fitted, makes the look feel instantly contemporary. We think Miss Banks would approve of those fluffy UGGs sandals we can see poking into frame there, too.

6) Gigi Hadid & Lizzie McGuire
Everything about Gigi's styling here screams Lizzie McGuire. A true '00s style icon, Lizzie's love of clashing prints, colour and lots of bright accessories have inspired Y2k loving fashion fans the world over.

7) Meghan Markle & Olivia Pope in Scandal
Both incredible ambassadors of the power coat, we think Meghan's wardrobe is totally in sync with Kerry Washington's famously stylish turn as Olivia Pope in Scandal.

8) Dua Lipa & Marissa Cooper in The O.C.
If you watched The O.C. in the early Noughties, you'll know the wardrobes of Orange County residents Marissa Cooper and Summer Roberts were the dreamiest collection of clothes you could ever wish for. Dua is certainly feeling the nostalgia.

9) Millie Bobby Brown & Rachel Green in Friends
As part of W magazine's TV portfolio series, which involved celebs embodying their fave characters during the pandemic, Millie took styling tips from TV fashion icon Rachel Green, even nailing the messy bun and wispy fringe. The resemblance is uncanny.

10) Olivia Rodrigo & Shelley Darlingson in The House Bunny
People out there will have you thinking Olivia was paying tribute to Mariah Carey with her '00s sequin butterfly top, but lest we forget Anna Faris' outfit in The House Bunny. The fashion in the film is pure late Noughties joy, and also stars Emma Stone and Kat Dennings.

11) Rihanna & Carrie Bradshaw in Sex and the City
Rihanna's penchant for bold high fashion looks remind us of the ever inspiring wardrobe of Carrie Bradshaw. Both these icons have a shared love of bright, textured pieces and statement coats and when you look this good in them, why wouldn't you?
