TWELVE households in Sitio Sambag, Barangay Angilan, Aloguinsan town have been placed under granular lockdown after five residents tested positive for the coronavirus and one succumbed to Covid-19.
Aloguinsan Mayor Cesare Ignatius Moreno told SunStar Cebu that he declared granular lockdown in the area on August 25 and it will run for two weeks.
He assured that the affected families have been given food assistance, vitamins, and medicines that are good for two weeks.
As of September 1, Aloguinsan logged a total of 31 Covid-19 active cases, 274 recoveries, and 13 deaths. The town already has a total of 318 confirmed Covid-19 cases.
Moreno said most of the Covid-19 fatalities were 70 to 80 years old, with comorbidities or bedridden, and unvaccinated.
One of the mortalities was a 28-year-old who was unvaccinated and had kidney disease.
Moreno said, though, that the Covid-19 cases in Aloguinsan remained manageable.
He said the town's evacuation center that was converted into an isolation facility has 40-bed capacity and has been managed by a doctor and nurses. It is not yet fully occupied.
Moreno said asymptomatic patients were allowed to undergo home quarantine while those who have mild symptoms were brought to the isolation facility.
“Dili man gyud siya in-ana ka grabe sama sa ubang lungsod kay mingaw-mingaw man gyud ni atoang lungsod. Ang mga tawo pud motuman ra pud di mga gahi'g ulo,” the mayor said. (MVE)
