A BANK in Cebu City has been put under granular lockdown after 12 of its employees tested positive for coronavirus.
With this, the Cebu City Emergency Operations Center (EOC) asked the banks to strengthen the health monitoring of their employees.
Councilor Joel Garganera, EOC deputy chief implementer, said the 12 bank employees are among the 39 new positive cases reported on September 9, 2020.
The 39 cases reported on September 9 came from 18 different barangays in the city. Barangay Apas had the highest number of cases reported on that day with 10 patients.
Garganera said there were four locally stranded individuals (LSIs) from Manila who were included in the 39 new cases, while three others came from other provinces.
Garganera said 1,006 were swabbed on September 8, and 39 tested positive for the virus.
With the recent report, Garganera expects a rise in the number of Covid-19 cases in the city in the following days. (JJL)
