VILLAGE officials of Barangay Pit-os in Cebu City are asking for food donations, as 130 persons are being temporarily sheltered in their gym due to the heavy flooding Friday afternoon, September 9, 2022.

Councilor Dexter Velayo told SunStar Cebu that five houses have been swept away by the strong flood, while 15 houses were damaged.

Velayo said no casualties were recorded after the incident but the barangay is now having a problem with how to provide food to the affected individuals since they do not have enough provisions.

The councilor said the standby food packs given by the Department of Social Welfare and Development have already been consumed during the series of flooding incidents that happened over the past months. (IRT)
