199 nabbed, more than P1M worth of illegal drugs confiscated during first day of Oplan Huli Days

A TOTAL of 62 drug suspects were arrested and more than P1 million worth of illegal drugs were recovered by personnel of the Police Regional Office (PRO) 7 on Thursday night, Oct. 27, 2022.

The drug suspects were arrested in 32 operations as part of the PRO 7’s Oplan Huli Days to ensure that the region remains crime-free during the long weekend until All Saints’ and All Souls’ Days on Nov. 1 and 2.

Aside from anti-illegal drug operations, PRO 7 operatives also conducted anti-gambling operations, arresting 27 people and confiscating P4,899 in cash believed to be gambling proceeds.

Police also arrested 110 wanted persons, 15 of whom were on the region’s most wanted list.

PRO 7 also confiscated 22 loose firearms.

PRO 7 Director Brig. Gen. Roderick Augustus Alba said the implementation of Oplan Huli Days will continue until the end of the long weekend.

He also urged his personnel, especially those assigned to safeguard cemeteries during the two-day Kalagkalag observance, to remain vigilant. (AYB / JKV)
