BATAAN, Philippines – A caretaker of an abandoned lot in Abucay, Bataan discovered two cadavers on Wednesday.
The caretaker, Lito De Jesus, initially thought the two were resting under a mango tree. When he checked on them, he discovered two lifeless bodies.
“ Tignan nyo iyong bag, akala mo nagpapahinga lang. Tapos lumapit po ako, may dugo. Umuwi na po ako tapos humingi ako ng tulong. Nangharang po kami ng pulis sa highway,” De Jesus said.
(Look at the bag, you’d think they were resting. Then I moved closer, there was blood. I went home to look for help. We stopped some police along the highway.)
Abucay Chief of Police PSI Jenny Cruz said the discovery happened at dawn.
“Bandang ala una ng madaling araw iyon pong mga kapitbahay may narinig silang mga tahol ng mga aso,” Cruz said.
(It was around 1:00 a.m. when the neighbors heard the dogs barking.)
Based on the initial investigation of the Abucay Police and the Scene of the Crime Operatives (SOCO,) there were bullet slugs found near the cadaver and their belongings.
The female victim was blindfolded while the male victim’s hands and feet were tied. The woman was identified through her ID as Rina Dela Rosa-Valencia of Barangay Calaylayan.
The police has launched a massive manhunt operation to track the suspect and to shed light on the motive of the crime. — Alfred Ocampo | UNTV News & Rescue
