2 deaf mute girls rescued by Manila PD

Police rescued two hearing-impaired young women from Bulacan who were allegedly abducted by their deaf mute friends. Manila and Bulacan Policemen rescued Jay Ann Daniel 'Aya' Masangkay, 16, and Precious Mendoza Largo, 20, in a house in 1884 President Quirino Avenue in Pandacan, Manila Monday. Case investigator PO3 Rodel Benitez, of the Manila Police District General Assignment Investigation Section said the girls were found in the third floor of a small shanty in a squatters’ area along Quirino Ave. Benitez said the room looked like a 'safe house'. The shanty was owned by the aunt of one of the alleged abductors. At the said house, police found the women with their friends, Gabriel M. Silvestre, 29, and Don Don Munoz, 35, both deaf-mute residents of Sta. Maria Bulacan. The Bulacan police coordinated with the Manila police after the women's parents, Raulito Masangkay and Heidi Masangkay reported that their daughter had not come home since September 27. According to Manila police investigators, the women said they voluntarily joined the group and were not coerced into coming to the house in Pandacan.
