2 hurt in motorcycle collision in Cebu City mountain barangay

TWO men were hurt after their motorcycles collided in Barangay Adlaon, Cebu City, on Saturday morning, Nov. 5, 2022.

Police identified the injured as Arnel Velasco Arcilla, 46, a resident of Sitio Sayaw in the said barangay; and Jovencio Maglasang, a resident of Sitio Humay-Humay in Barangay Gun-ob, Lapu-Lapu City.

Maj. Alvin Llamedo, chief of the Talamban Police Station, said the incident occurred at around 10:40 a.m. on Saturday.

Llamedo said that Arcilla was driving his motorcycle with backrider Brixan Gariuos Beyate, 33, a resident of Barangay Taptap, also in Cebu City, when he encountered Maglasang onboard another motorcycle upon reaching Sitio Ibabao in the same barangay.

Llamedo said based on their investigation, Arcilla was on his way to Taptap and was maneuvering a steep road in Sitio Ibabao when Maglasang, who was driving in the opposite direction, suddenly collided with the former.

The collision resulted in both drivers being thrown from their vehicles. Luckily, Beyate didn’t sustain any injuries after the incident.

Both Arcial and Maglasang were immediately brought to a nearby hospital where they are currently recuperating from their injuries. (BBT / JKV)
