THERE were eight confirmed coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) cases in Mandaue City on Tuesday, June 16, 2020.
According to the Facebook post of the Mandaue City Public Information Office, all new patients are from the community.
Half are from Barangay Umapad: a 21-year-old female from Purok Tambis, a 23-year-old female from Purok Star Apple, a 22-year-old male from Purok Lemonsito and a 12-year-old male from Purok Star Apple.
The rest are from Barangay Opao (a 26-year-old female); Sitio Lupa, Greenhills, Barangay Casuntingan (a 45-year-old female); Barangay Maguikay (a 60-year-old female); and Mango Green Village, A.S. Fortuna St., Barangay Banilad (a 50-year-old female).
Personnel of the Disaster Risk Reduction Management Office will decontaminate the residences involved.
Mandaue City has a total of 453 cases with 95 recoveries and 12 deaths.
In Lapu-Lapu City, 12 new Covid-19 cases were reported in five barangays: seven in Sitio Ibapo, Barangay Mactan; two in Sitio Sudtonggan, Barangay Basak; and one each in Barangays Canjulao, Pajo and Pusok.
Mayor Junard Chan has tasked the Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office to verify the location of the new cases.
Lapu-Lapu City has 213 Covid-19 cases and 59 recoveries.
Talisay City did not record any new cases on July 16, but Mayor Gerald Anthony Gullas Jr. reported seven new recoveries.
The number of Covid-19 cases in the city has reached 118 with 59 active cases, 43 recoveries and 16 deaths.
The Cebu City Health Department had yet to release Covid-19 figures for July 16, as of press time. (KFD, JKV)
