2 nabbed in Tabunok, Talisay drug bust

TWO individuals were arrested for peddling illegal drugs in Sitio Mananga 2, Barangay Tabunok, Talisay City, Cebu Monday night, May 30, 2022.

Lieutenant Colonel Randy Caballes identified the suspects as April Tabliga, 31, and her live-in partner Joas Guarino, 25, a resident of Upper Tunghaan, Barangay San Vicente, Minglanilla, Cebu, but was residing in Sitio Mananga 2, Barangay Tabunok, Talisay City.

Caballes said they conducted the drug bust in coordination with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA)-Central Visayas after several reports on the suspects’ involvement in the illegal drug trade.

Guarino and Tabliga were arrested at 10:51 p.m. Monday in their house in Sitio Mananga 2.

Seized from them were 10 plastic sachets of shabu, P100 marked money, P900 cash believed to be proceeds from the illegal drug trade, and drug paraphernalia.

Caballes said the operation was done in relation to Oplan Limpyo Talisay, which has so far resulted in the confiscation of an estimated 50 grams of shabu with a standard drug price of P340,000.

The suspects will face charges for violation of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. (GDC)
