Habagat or the southwest monsoon is still affecting most parts of Luzon.

Two tropical cyclones, roughly outside Philippine area of responsibility (PAR), are currently strengthening the southwest monsoon. Typhoon with an international name “Soulik” is located at 1,670 kilometers (km) east-northeast of extreme Northern Luzon.

Another distant severe tropical storm with an international name “Cimaron” is spotted at 2,965 kilometers (km) east of Luzon. As of now, Cimaron has a low probability to make its landfall or hit any part of the country, however, it stirs habagat.

Monsoon rains will be experienced over Ilocos Region, Cordillera Administrative Region (CAR), Batanes, Babuyan Group of Islands, Zambales at Bataan.

Metro Manila, the rest of Central Luzon, Calabarzon, Mindoro provinces and Northern Palawan may have cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms.

Meanwhile, the rest of the country may expect isolated rain showers.

PAGASA forecasts intensified effect of habagat on Wednesday. — UNTV News & Rescue
