THE 2015 Samurai vanquished the 2013 District, 74-60, to emerge as the champions of Division 3 basketball in the University of San Carlos North Alumni Basketball Club Cebu City Mayor’s Cup at the USC North Campus gym on Sunday, November 24, 2019.

The Samurai went on a blistering 30-9 run in the third canto to turn what was a close game into a lopsided one. Down 28-30 at halftime, 2015 got it together, surged ahead and never looked back to capture the title.

Spearheading 2015’s attack was prolific guard Edmar Galado who had 14 points, two rebounds, four assists and a steal. Also submitting crucial numbers were Angelo Delcampo who had 14 and Emman Bautista who tallied 12.

The District was led by the 22 points of King Osabel, the 14 of big man Dolan Adlawan and 11 from Michael Balankig.

Galado, who averaged 19 points, five rebounds, three assists and a steal for the season was named to the Mythical Five alongside 2013’s Osabel and Adlawan and 2011’s Dave Guardiario and Anthony Romaguerra.

The league was organized and ran by former University of San Carlos Warriors point guard Jacques Bautista.
