A TOTAL of 20,381 waitlisted household beneficiaries from 24 local government units in Cebu have claimed their P6,000 in cash aid under the Social Amelioration Program (SAP).
The waitlisted beneficiaries are those eligible low-income families who were not provided with emergency subsidy aid by the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) 7 and other government agencies during the first tranche of distribution early this year.
DSWD 7 Assistant Director Shalaine Lucero said they aimed to complete the distribution to the remaining beneficiaries by the end of July.
Lucero did not divulge the names of the 24 local government units in Cebu.
In other parts of Central Visayas, the first batch of qualified low-income household beneficiaries of the SAP can expect to receive the second tranche of the P6,000 cash aid by next week.
The SAP is a cash emergency subsidy program for 18 million Filipino families whose lives have been affected by the lockdowns imposed by the government to contain the spread of the coronavirus disease 2019.
Lucero said 37 of the 53 local government units in Cebu have already submitted their clean lists of beneficiaries for the second tranche.
As of Wednesday, July 22, Lucero said, 16 local government units in Cebu already have payrolls. The DSWD 7 is waiting for the schedules of the payouts, among others.
The DSWD 7 was expecting to receive on Thursday, July 23, the other batches of approved beneficiaries from 21 local government units in Central Visayas.
Lucero said the processing of payrolls usually takes two days. (WBS)
