LAPU-LAPU City has 24 coronavirus disease (Covid-19) active cases as of Wednesday, July 13, 2022.

This, after the city logged six new cases on Tuesday, July 12.

City Health Officer Dr. Agnes Cecile Realiza told SunStar Cebu that majority of the cases are experiencing only mild symptoms.

Realiza added that most of the active cases are under home isolation, while others are admitted to hospitals.

The city health officer stressed that coronavirus transmission would always be there.

With this, they will still ramp up their vaccination campaign amid the Alert Level 1 status of Lapu-Lapu, citing they have three fixed vaccination sites, which are located at the City Auditorium, City Sports Complex and Mactan Newtown.

She said they will also conduct daily vaccination in different barangays in Lapu-Lapu.

While she could not give data yet, Realiza noted that only few individuals have availed themselves of the Covid-19 vaccination compared to when the city was still not downgraded to Alert Level 1 status.

Realiza urged the public to continue wearing face masks despite having only 24 active cases of Covid-19, adding that Mayor Junard “Ahong” Chan has not yet lifted the wearing of face masks outdoors. (MKG)
