PERSONS deprived of liberty (PDL) in Consolacion town were among those given priority by the local government unit for coronavirus disease (Covid-19) vaccination.
Consolacion Mayor Joannes Alegado told SunStar Cebu in a text message that PDLs in town were the first PDLs in Cebu Province and second in the country to be vaccinated against Covid-19.
He said 243 PDLs in Consolacion were fully vaccinated, one has yet to receive the first dose, and nine opted not to get vaccinated.
Alegado added that some PDLs who received their first dose were already freed from jail.

On August 5, around 205 PDLs were fully vaccinated and 38 received their complete doses on September 2.

Alegado also said that as of September 3, a total of 38,112 residents were already given their first dose, and 22,950 individuals are now fully vaccinated.
Vaccination for walk-in residents is also ongoing in the town. It started last August 31. (MVE)
