collapsed Larrazabal bridge that links Caibirana and Naval
MANILA, Philippines — Thousands were gravely affected by flooding and landslides caused by Typhoon Urduja that landfall in Eastern Visayas last Saturday.
In the initial report by the office of the Civil Defense, there are 26 confirmed deaths reported from the province of Biliran due to the four landslides in the province.
Added to this was the collapse of the steep part of Brgy. Lucsoon in the town of Naval which caused some houses to be buried along with its residents.
Search and rescue operations of the authorities continue for the 23 others who are missing that were possibly buried alive.
Aside from this, it is also difficult to enter the province of Biliran because the Larrazabal bridge that links Caibirana and Naval collapsed.
Pump boats are currently being used in order to cross towards Biliran.
Meanwhile, two are dead in Ormoc City and one in the Lake in Eastern Samar due to Typhoon Urduja.
Residents remain in evacuation centers that were affected by landslides and flash floods.
