If I had to pick one wardrobe staple that I can’t live without, it would definitely be jeans. During the fall and winter, I wear jeans almost every single day. I own close to 30 different pairs, so I feel pretty confident in my collection.
But that doesn’t mean I don’t play favorites when I pick out a pair every morning. Below, get the scoop on three of my favorite jeans of all time at save, mid-range and splurge price points.
AE Stretch Mom Straight Jean, $49.95
To me, this pair from American Eagle is the perfect mix of a mom jean and a straight-leg cut. I have a ton of denim from AE and every pair washes well season after season and fits really nicely. The brand also offers long and short inseams, which I appreciate. The Stretch Mom Straight Jean in particular is a great staple to have in your closet. It has a medium wash, a high-waist fit and minimal distressing so you’ll be able to reach for this pair almost daily. And priced at just under $50, this pair is a total win.
What would a denim roundup be without Madewell? My friends and I all adore Madewell jeans for their quality, size range and on-trend styles. The Perfect Vintage Jeans have a great vintage, almost ’90s look to them, and this darker wash is easy to dress up or down. I will say that Madewell’s sizing can be a little tricky and suggest that you go down one size. Every pair I’ve ever had stretches out a bit after the first wear or two, so sizing down can help you avoid needing a belt in the future.
My first ever luxury denim purchase was a pair of grey Hudson skinny jeans in high school and I’ve loved the brand ever since. I recently added the Barbara High-Rise Bootcut Jean to my wardrobe and have dubbed them my favorite black jeans ever. This pair is finished with a high-shine wax coating that gives a bit of a sheen and elevates this bootcut style from all of my other black jeans. Spending over $200 on jeans is a definite splurge, but I think these (or any pair from Hudson, really) are worth the price and investment.
