30 uncalibrated weighing scales confiscated in Tabunok public market

UP TO 30 weighing scales with inaccurate weight readings and three colored lights in fish stalls were confiscated at the Tabunok Public Market in Talisay City on November 17, 2022, Thursday.

Market head Arnie Dela Torre said the weighing scales were seized after it was discovered that they had not been recalibrated yet.

Dela Torre said only transparent lights are allowed in the market and not the colored ones, which he said are being used by the vendors to deceive their customers into believing that their fish are fresh.

The owners of the seized items will be slapped with a fine of between P200 and P500.

“Mura lang mi intawon og iring ug ilaga ani nga mag sige ug paniid nila. If masakpan, sakit na gyud na nga kantidad alang kanila

(We are like cats and mice playing hide and seek. If caught, the fine is already a burden to them),” Dela Torre said. (TPT)
