CAMARINES SUR, Philippines — The Philippine National Police (PNP) Pio Duran, Albay is currently looking into leads for the capture of the suspect in the killing of a 36-year-old woman last Saturday morning.
The victim was identified as Sherryl Odoño Talavera, a mother of six.
According to Mona Lisa Odoño, the victim’s sister, she heard Sherryl cry for help.
“When she called for help and started shouting, that’s when she got stabbed,” said Mona Lisa.
Sherryl was brought to the hospital but was declared dead-on-arrival.
Mona Lisa said the suspect also attempted to kill the victim’s eldest daughter by strangling her but survived.
Based on Pio, Duran Municipal Police Station’s investigation, the victim was stabbed seven times in different parts of her body.
The victim’s daughter who witnessed the crime was unable to identify the suspect, but police claim they already have a lead.
“So what we’ll do is file a case first then we can arrest [the suspect],” said Pio, Duran MPS deputy chief of police PSI Darwin Sevilla.
Sherryl’s husband is set to return home this week from the Middle East. — UNTV News & Rescue
