37 Sawang Calero cops back to work

AT LEAST 37 personnel of the Sawang Calero Police Station in Cebu City are back to work after spending 35 days in a quarantine facility.

The police station was also opened to public on June 2.

Police Major Eduard Sanchez, chief of the Sawang Calero Police Station, said they were allowed to report back to work by the Regional Health Services on Tuesday, June 2.

The Sawang Calero Police Station was placed on lockdown on May 6 after two drug suspects who were detained at the station tested positive for the new virus that causes the coronavirus disease (Covid-19).

The policemen who were on duty that time were also found positive for the virus.

Meanwhile, 14 personnel of the Labangon Police Station were transferred to the Cebu City Resource Management and Development Center, which is located in Barangay Taptap. They are expected to report back to work next week.

Another cop has been placed at the barangay isolation center, while another was brought to a hospital due to high blood pressure.

Most of the policemen in Cebu City who have tested positive for coronavirus were infected by drug suspects. (BBT)
